Unisphere Quick Start GuideUnisphere enables the user to configure and manage PowerMax, VMAX All Flash, and VMAX storage systems.
Unisphere for PowerMax administrationUnisphere supports administrative tasks including managing settings and using dashboards to monitor storage systems.
Storage ManagementStorage consists of the following: storage groups, service levels, templates, storage resource pools, volumes, external storage, vVols, and disk groups.
Host ManagementStorage hosts are systems that use storage system LUN resources. Unisphere manages the hosts.
Data protection management Data Protection management ensures that data is protected and remains available.
Performance ManagementThe Unisphere performance management application monitors and manages storage system performance data (Dashboards, Charts, Analyze, Heatmap, Reports, Plan, Real-Time traces, and Performance Database management).
VMware ManagementUnisphere supports the discovery of vCenters or ESXi servers (using a read-only user) and integrates the information into Unisphere. VMware information is connected to its storage extents and this information enables seamless investigation of any storage-related issues.
System ManagementThe System Management area of Unisphere includes management of the following: Hardware, System Properties, File (eNAS), iSCSI, iSCSI+NVMe, and PowerMax File.

- View Storage System detailsStorage system details provide information of storage system settings.
- View management server resourcesUnisphere supports the display of server details and Unisphere REST API details.
- Understanding eNASEmbedded NAS (eNAS) integrates the file-based storage capabilities of VNX arrays into storage systems running HYPERMAX OS 5977 or PowerMaxOS 5978.
- Understanding iSCSIUnisphere provides monitoring and management for Internet Small Computer Systems Interface (iSCSI) directors, iSCSI ports, iSCSI endpoints, IP interfaces, and IP routes.

- View the audit logThe storage system audit records include all actions that are taken on that storage system.
- View product version informationUnisphere supports the display of the product version information.
- View cache partitionsCache Partitioning divides the cache memory into multiple partitions with unique names and their device path assignments.
- Configure D@REData at Rest Encryption (D@RE) protects data confidentiality by adding back-end encryption to the entire storage system. Unisphere supports the entry and validation of D@RE external key security certificates.

- The Emulation Management wizardThe Emulation Management wizard can be used to add and remove director emulations.
Serviceability ManagementUnisphere provides a serviceability application that supports the deployment of update packages for PowerMax embedded applications.
System Profiles ManagementA PowerMax software system profile is a subset of system settings that are associated with at least one storage system (array). The settings are defined once as part of a system profile, and these settings can be applied to one or more storage systems.
